// ABOUT LISF 2023 //
Global space players will convene in Langkawi, Malaysia from May 24th – 25th, 2023 at the LISF @LIMAʼ23, the biggest Aerospace and Maritime Exhibition in ASEAN. Hosted by the Malaysian Space Agency under the purview of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, this biennial forum will be held at the highest possible political and corporate level with Heads of State or Government, Ministers, Head of Space Agencies, Chairman, CEOs, Astronauts and Scientists present.
It is open to the participation of all spacefaring nations, individuals and corporate bodies that need space technology as a means to meet their commitment to the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.
LISF will provide a platform for participants to discover the beyond not only via intellectual discourse but also through G2G Bilateral Discussions under its unique embedded Bilateral Programs and its association with the SpaceTech Nexus @ LIMAʼ23.
Malaysiaʼs strategic location in ASEAN positions her strongly as a global hub for access to space. LISF will act as a feeder to the IAF-ISF at Ministerial Level (South East Asia Chapter) that Malaysia will be hosting in the first quarter of 2024 aimed at fostering the formation of a regional space economy.

// BILATERAL PROGRAMS //
The LISF encourages international cooperation and diplomacy in line with the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) agenda by facilitating bilateral G2G meetings amongst participating countries.
INTERNATIONAL BILATERAL ENGAGEMENT
The LISF’s unique embedded Bilateral Program will see a number of G2G bilateral discussions between the host, relevant Ministries and agencies making up Malaysia’s National Space Board (JANGKA) with their counterparts from select countries to discuss, consult and negotiate on regulatory issues of mutual interest, collaborate in earth and space science as well as human space exploration, global navigation satellite systems, spaceflights safety and space situational awareness and policies for commercial space; exchange information; share expertise and when appropriate, responsibilities under COPUOS; to ensure the long term sustainability of outer space activities.
ASEAN HEAD OF SPACE AGENCIES ROUNDTABLE
The program will also include a Head of Space Agencies (HOSA) roundtable to discuss on regional cooperation to harmonise respective space domains by coordinating aspects of security, safety and sustainability of space.
BILATERAL COORDINATION BY MALAYSIA'S NATIONAL SPACE BOARD
Malaysia’s National Space Board or JANGKA is chaired by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and its members comprised of senior decision makers across Ministries, Agencies and various stakeholders related to the Malaysian space sector. Relevant JANGKA members will represent Malaysia in all bilateral engagements with invited and interested countries and the actual composition will depend on issues and interests identified during 2 rounds of pre-engagements.
